Hummus

 Ingredients:

1 can (16oz) chickpeas, drained and rinsed

1/3 cup smooth tahini

2 Tbsp olive oil

Juice of 1 lemon (about 2 Tbsp)

1 garlic clove, minced

1/2 tsp kosher salt

Cold filtered water (about 5 splashes haha)

Optional mix-ins:

Roasted red pepper

Roasted garlic

Caramelized onions

Sun dried tomatoes

Kalamata olives

Jalapeños 

Optional toppings:

Olive oil

Paprika

Red pepper flakes

Parsley


Add all ingredients, except water, to a food processor or blender. Blend until mostly combined- it’ll still be pretty chunky. While the blender is going, add water a splash at a time, letting it mix thoroughly between each one. Stop adding water once it’s at your desired consistency, but know it’ll still be grainy. Stir in whatever mix-ins you want or just leave it traditional. Transfer to a serving bowl and add toppings if you wish. Serve with veggies, pita bread, and/or crackers.
